Our mission
Honing for Battle is a place for brothers in Christ to find retreats and get-togethers for the purpose of sharing, making deep connections, and learning to embrace our true identities in Jesus Christ. The destroyer tries to isolate us to make us less effective. We encourage men to fight back by making strong connections. Together we shall overcome.

Retreats are crafted to help men encounter God's presence, wrestle with truth, and return home sharpened for everyday battles—work, marriage, fatherhood, and mission.
"I went to a retreat in December. I walked in Friday evening to a room of strangers, but by Saturday night we were sharing things with each other that we had never shared before- with anyone. I have struggled with porn since I was a boy, but here I was accepted and loved as a son of God, with no judgement. By shining light into the darkness, I am finding freedom from the lies that the enemy has used to keep me from serving my Lord as I should. That retreat was pivotal in my healing journey.

I went to a retreat a few months ago, and for the first time in my life I felt comfortable sharing some very painful things that happened to me when I was a boy. I had always been told to "be tough", but ignoring pain just buried it deeper. Being able to share, and honestly, to cry, without shame and embarassment- set me free from those things. I feel like a new man. I'm closer to God, a better husband, and a better father. I can't wait to go to the next one!
